ColorLite sph9i fully automated spectrophotometer
Colour is an important quality attribute of almost every product. The ColorLite sph9i is a fully automated spectrophotometer for 100% production control, available with different probe head variants and a wide range of accessories. It is used for colour measurement in the plastics, paper, textile and food industries, where permanent quality control reduces waste and increases productivity by saving time and costs.
Spectral measurement principle
Spectral colour measurement is the most accurate method for consistent and reproducible results. The sample is illuminated with homogeneous white light from high power LEDs, and the surface is scanned spectrally in 3.5 nm steps from 400 to 700 nm. The sph9i takes into account the illuminant and observer angle of the selected probe head variant, and repeatability is below 0.05 ΔE CIELab on a white surface.
Probe heads for reflection and transmission
Probe heads are available in 45°/0°, d/8°, 20°/0° and d/0° geometry with measuring areas from 2 mm to 80 mm. Examples are the non-contact 45°/0° MKi 6010-TC with IR sensor and temperature compensation, the 20°/0° MKI 020 with about 10 mm measuring spot at about 80 mm distance, the d/8° MA35-UK-AL in solid aluminium, the d/0° MA38-VA with 40 mm measuring area in stainless steel and a d/0° dipstick probe with IP67 and sapphire glass for liquids and powders.
Applications
The sph9i measures granules, recycled pellets, regrind, extrudates and injection moulded parts in reflection. Films, PET packaging, textile fabrics and paper webs can be measured in reflection and transmission, and liquids are measured with the dipstick probe. Other applications are available on request.
Integration and accessories
The sph9i communicates easily with your process control system via PROFINET, PROFIBUS or Ethernet, and it also has serial USB, isolated RS232 and a 4/4-channel digital I/O. Accessories include ActiveX server software, ColorDaTra Professional, SQL database software ipm, a horizontal linear track with calibration unit, an automatic calibration unit, a control cabinet, an inline 60° gloss sensor according to DIN EN ISO 2813, a panel PC and a warning light system with signal tower.
