ColorLite sph-RG2 – ColorLite

ColorLite sph-RG2 rugged spectrophotometer

The ColorLite sph-RG2 is a spectrophotometer made from solid materials with the highest protection class. The Rugged 2 series is built to work reliably in rough production environments while still meeting high demands on accuracy, functionality and ease of use.

Solid aluminium housing with IP65

The main housing is milled from solid aluminium, shot blasted and finished with a hard anodised coating. With protection class IP65 the instrument is dust and waterproof, which makes it suitable for harsh conditions in production.

Measuring geometries for your requirements

The sph-RG2 measures in d/8° geometry according to DIN 5033, where the sample is illuminated with diffuse light from an integrating sphere and measured at an angle of 8°. The d/0° geometry has a large measuring area and makes inhomogeneous samples such as granules, food and wood measurable. The technical data also lists 45°/0° with a 10 mm measuring area.

Scan, measure and save

With the optional integrated data matrix scanner the workflow is simple: scan the QR or barcode, measure the sample and save the data. Real-time measurement data can be sent via WiFi and other wireless communication, and labels can be printed directly on a wireless label printer such as the Zebra ZD410.

Precise spectral measurement

A holographic grating spectrometer scans from 400 to 700 nm in 3.5 nm intervals, and a complete measuring cycle takes less than one second. Repeatability is below 0.03 ΔE CIELab. The instrument stores 1000 standards, 1000 colour values, 300 spectra and 350 sample photos, and it runs on a replaceable rechargeable 18650 lithium polymer battery.

Applications and accessories

Typical uses are colour measurement and registration of incoming and outgoing goods according to DIN EN ISO 9000, objective colour quality control in production and colour difference measurement against reference colours stored on the device. Accessories include a set for measuring powder and similar samples such as coffee, a holder with integrated calibration standard for stationary work and the ColorDaTra software.

FAQ - ColorLite sph-RG2 – ColorLite

What makes the ColorLite sph-RG2 suitable for rough environments?

The housing is milled from solid aluminium, shot blasted and hard anodised. With protection class IP65 the sph-RG2 is dust and waterproof, so it can be used reliably in harsh production environments.

Which measuring geometries are available?

The technical data lists d/0° with a 40 mm measuring area, d/8° with a 6 mm area and 45°/0° with a 10 mm area according to DIN 5033. The d/0° geometry is used for inhomogeneous samples such as granules, food and wood.

How does the optional data matrix scanner work?

The workflow is scan the QR or barcode, measure the sample and save the data. This links each measurement to the right sample directly.

How is measurement data shared?

Real-time measurement data can be sent via WiFi and other wireless communication or via USB 2.0, and labels can be printed directly on a wireless label printer.

What power supply does the sph-RG2 use?

It runs on a rechargeable lithium polymer battery in the standard 18650 size, which is replaceable.

Who manufactures the ColorLite sph-RG2?

The sph-RG2 is developed and manufactured by ColorLite GmbH.
