VR9700 Controller – Vibration Research

VR Shaker Controllers

VR9700 Premium Performance Controller

The VR9700 controller builds on Vibration Research’s reliable hardware reputation, featuring a Class II double-insulated chassis that reduces potential ground loops and improves signal integrity. With its fast dual-core processor and increased memory, this controller delivers superior performance for all your vibration testing needs.

Reliable Architecture

Built with longevity in mind, the VR9700 features an updated architecture with increased computing power to support advanced software capabilities well into the future. Its low-profile footprint and minimal power requirements make it an efficient addition to any testing environment.

Noise Reduction Technology

The VR9700’s Class II double-insulated chassis helps prevent external components from sourcing a ground reference through the controller. Front inputs and drive outputs can be isolated with the flip of a switch, breaking potential paths for ground loops and improving overall signal integrity.

TruDAC Digital Output

Compatible with Vibration Research’s TruDAC Digital Output technology, the VR9700 detects disconnected and broken cables between the amplifier and controller, supports longer cable lengths without signal degradation, and eliminates common sources of noise by breaking the ground path between components.

Universal Shaker Compatibility

Supported by VibrationVIEW software versions 2025 and newer, the VR9700 can set up and safely control any electrodynamic, servo-hydraulic, or servo-electric shaker. It includes single-axis, dual-axis, dual-phase, rotational, three-axis, multi-loop/four-post, and seismic control options.

Support & Service

The VR9700 comes with a 3-year hardware warranty that can be extended to a lifetime warranty with a valid support agreement, ensuring your testing equipment remains reliable for years to come.

  • Remote outputs can be boosted to a higher voltage via an external power supply to 26.5V (5V provided by box alone)
  • RGB/full-color ring LEDs

Does the VR9700 have a power switch?

No, the VR9700 hardware does not have a power switch. You can leave the unit on in-between use without an issue. Connecting/disconnecting the device from a power source functions the same as the on/off switch on other VR hardware.

Is the VR9700 compatible with other Vibration Research controllers?

The VR9700 will work with the VR10500 but not immediately upon launch. The goal is to enable mix-and-match compatibility in the near future.

How can I reduce power usage when the controller is not in use?

To reduce power usage while the hardware device is connected to power but not in use, engineers can turn off the IEPE power to accelerometers under Configuration > Inputs. VR's software development team is also developing a green mode
